President Biden announced in a nationally televised speech that all people aged 18 and older should be able to schedule their shot by May 1, with a goal of a return to some sense of normalcy by the July 4th holiday, saying "“if we do our part, if we do this together, by July the 4th there’s a good chance you, your families and friends will be able to get together in your backyard or in your neighborhood and have a cookout and a barbecue and celebrate Independence Day.”

While this is great news, the President did remind us that we will need to continue doing our part to control the spread by continuing to wear a mask and practicing social distancing while out in public. Things won't get back to normal overnight, but the light at the end of the tunnel is certainly starting to get brighter.

This is much earlier than I had ever dreamed, but it seems to be entirely possible if we all work together to get as many people their shots as quickly as possible. So mask up, wash your hands, and get your shot when it's your turn. If we all do that then we just might be able to have a great celebration on July 4.

This is great news. That's really only a few weeks away and that time will fly by. Knowing that I can get the vaccine in the nest month or two is a huge deal not just more me I'm sure, but for everyone. Knowing that you'll be able to travel and whatnot so soon is great.

Just weeks away, hope everything stays according to plan. Haven't gotten a shot yet but I know more and more people that have so that seems like a good sign of progress.
