Congress prompts Biden for monthly, ongoing stimulus checks

At the moment at least 50 US reps have signed onto a letter urging President Biden to seriously consider regular monthly payments to Americans in the form of more stimulus checks, some suggesting upwards of $2000/month on an ongoing basis.

While the letter doesn't have a set dollar amount, the message is clear: one-off checks aren't cutting it to help millions of Americans recover and survive what this country's economy has been through the last year plus.

And while we do have a set end date in sight of sorts for July to get somewhat 'back to normal', we aren't there yet. And millions are still struggling mightily just to get by right now.

What do you think of monthly stimulus checks? Do you think we should stop after this third round of checks or do you feel like that's a drop in the bucket compared to the aide we should be sending out? Should they be more targeted or do you think whatever we send out ultimately stimulates the economy regardless? I feel like these are the salient questions being debated on both sides right now.

I think monthly stimulus checks would be a good thing, atleast for the time being. It also makes sense to do a basic income test right now to see how viable that plan would be for the U.S. I've always been curious about that idea and I think this might just be the perfect time to implement it.

Oh I totally agree. It would really help those who do not have any means of income. And it could work hand in hand with unemployment.
